Xeno Artist Model trumpets are based on in-depth research into vintage instruments that are considered masterpieces, but they are not simply reproductions. All materials and parts have been thoroughly reviewed, and construction refined to deliver unprecedented balance and performance. Ongoing collaboration with leading artists around the world continues to elevate Xeno Artist Model performance to new heights. The New York Series of Artist Model Trumpet is based on traditional styling with advanced refinements and was developed in cooperation with some of America’s most renowned orchestral trumpeters. The first generation was developed with Robert Sullivan, former associate principal trumpet with the New York Philharmonic. The widely acclaimed second and third generations, with David Bilger, principal trumpet with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Tom Rolfs, principal trumpet with the Boston Symphony who collaborated on the development of the second and third generations of an additional version of the New York C trumpet – YTR-9445NYS-YM. This version of the New York model C trumpet features a YM bell taper which is more steeply flared and was designed to achieve a clear, richly defined tone that was preferred by Mr. Rolfs in Boston Symphony Hall’s legendary acoustic environment. Artistic guidance was provided during the design stage by John Hagstrom of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. We focused on achieving the ideal blowing resistance and weight balance, and we re-thought every part of the new Chicago trumpet. We've created an instrument that is not simply easy to sound, but also provides delicate response when playing pp and powerful presence when playing ff. For the first time Yamaha has designed a student trumpet with a reversed main tuning slide allowing for an exceptional feel and response. The two-piece bell of the YTR-2330 is crafted using state-of-the-art production methods, delivering a consistent, vibrant tone. The balanced weight and addition of an adjustable third valve trigger allows for a natural hand position and promotes proper playing technique, while the water key on the third valve slide adds to the ease of use and over-all playability of the instrument.
